Line pumps are concrete pumping machines used for transferring liquid concrete from a hopper to the construction site. Two types of concrete pumps are used, such as a pump attached to a semi-trailer truck and the line pumps or trailer-mounted concrete pumps. The line pumps are needed to be attached manually or mounted on the trailer truck.
To use a line pump there is a requirement of long and flexible steel or rubber hose which is attached to the trailer truck. The steel hoses have an outlet linked to the concrete mixing machine for delivering the liquid concrete wherever needed. These types of line pumps are used for pumping concrete in lower volumes as compared to the boom pumps which pumps concrete in large volumes.
The line pumps are basically used for the construction process of swimming pools, sidewalks, small concrete slabs, ground slabs, driveways, retaining walls and many other forms of small building structures. There are two types of booms are used in line pumps such as the horizontal and vertical booms. The most important features of line pumps are they are cost efficient, has enhanced oil lubricating system for smooth flow of concrete, long interval maintenance intervals and many other features. Considering the safety parameters, the line pumps have a safe positioning on the trailer truck while pumping concrete at the location.
As the line concrete pumps are small in size, so it can be conveniently used in tight spaces in the construction site. The hoses that are used in the line pumps range from 2-5 inches in diameter and are usually 10 feet in length. There are hoses over five inches in diameter that can be used for pumping grout and concrete.
Hoses of the line pumps having smaller diameters are basically used for making residential basement and commercial floors having hard to reach spaces. Basically, the process of pumping concrete starts with discharge of concrete from a hopper or agitator. Moreover, using the line pump for concrete pumping process has its own advantage in lowering the manpower costs and is towable for use at any place.
